Donald Trump’s son wants Elon Musk to build a social network – Latest News

Almost every big social media network has banned or restricted US president Donald Trump from posting. Be it Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat — Trump has been silenced by one and all. Parler, the social media platform that was used by Trump and his followers has also seen strict action from Google, Amazon, Apple. In the light of the recent events, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. has now come out and said that perhaps Tesla CEO Elon Musk should make a social network.

According to a report by The Next Web, Trump Jr. posted a video on Instagram where he urged Musk to build a social network. “If Elon musk can privately send people into space, I’m sure he can design a social network that isn’t biased.” In the video, Trump Jr. further said that Musk has the ability to “out-do Twitter” and build a network that handles hate speech and posts inciting violence with “actual neutral arbiters and fact-checkers.”

Trump Jr. further said in the video that “I think there’s a lot of Americans that would love that and support it wholeheartedly.”

Musk, meanwhile, hasn’t directly come out and said anything for or against Trump’s ban. However, he did say that a lot of people will be “super unhappy” with what has unfolded. In a reply to a tweet, Musk wrote, “A lot of people are going to be super unhappy with West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech.” He also pointed out that it is important to make the distinction between banning hate speech and banning speech it hates.

The Tesla CEO is now the world’s richest man, as per Bloomberg Billionaires’ Index. Apart from Tesla, his other big company is SpaceX, a space exploration venture.
