Samsung launches 870 EVO SATA SSD with up to 560Mbps reading speed – Gadgets News

South Korean electronics company Samsung has expanded its range of SSD storage devices. The company has launched 870 EVO SATA SSD storage devices.

Samsung 870 EVO comes with the company’s latest V-NAND and controller. The device offers maximum SATA sequential read and write speeds of 560MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively.

The drive is equipped with Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which the company says, helps maintain its peak performance levels. “The 870 EVO also delivers a nearly 38% improvement in random read speed over the previous 860 model,” said the company in a press release.

Samsung 870 EVO drive is said to offer terabytes written (TBW) rating of 2,400TB. It comes with a five-year warranty for its 4TB model.

The drive can be used with all devices that have 2.5-inch SATA interface connection. It is compatible with devices that support Window’s Modern Standby function.

Samsung 870 EVO comes with a starting price of $49.99 (approx Rs 3,655) for the 250GB model.
