WhatsApp will soon allow public testing of multi-device support, claims report – Latest News

Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has reportedly been working on multi-device support since a while now. WABetaInfo, the online channel that tracks the upcoming changes and features on the app, has been revealing information about this particular feature since a while now.

As an update to that, WABetaInfo has now suggested that the WhatsApp 2.21.1.1 beta for Android includes a reference that hints that the public testing of multi-device support will be made live soon.

As per the website, the Android app of WhatsApp may give its users an option to join beta testing for the new feature by going to the WhatsApp Web/ Desktop settings.

Apparently, the app will give a pop-up message to users to test the feature which no longer requires then to keep their phone connected.

In December, WABetaInfo had also claimed that the app is testing how calling will work when the multi-device support is configured.

Back in November, WABetaInfo had claimed that the multi-device support feature will allow audio and video calls to ring across devices at the same time.

This essentially means that if a user logs in to various devices using one single WhatsApp account and when they receive a call, then all the devices that are being used for that account will ring simultaneously and the user will then have the choice to answer it on which device they want to.
